The given table sets out the technical assistance that are available at assisting the Business Sector in Tonga:

| Assistance/ Programs: | Tonga Community Development Scheme (TCDS) Tonga Community Development Scheme (TCDS) us divided into the following programs:i) Ha’apai Development Fund (HDF) (focusing on development projects in Ha’apai) ii) Australian Community Assistance Scheme (ACAS) (focusing on development projects in Tongatapu) The main objective of these programs is to improve the standard of living of Tongans and assist in the reduction of poverty in the country. TCDF offers financial assistance to community based projects which comply with the objectives of Ausaid as agreed upon by the Australian and Tongan governments. Financial assistance granted under TCDS ranges between TOP$8,000 - TOP$75,000. All projects are given a time frame of 12 months for implementation. Applicants are required to bear 10% of the total cost of the project. Concessions can be made on the stated requirements based on the nature of the application and its contribution to the community. |
| Criteria: | Tongan registered private companies or organizations that have been in operation for a minimum of 15 years. Locally established village/town groups or organizations are also eligible to apply.Preference is given to companies or organizations that contribute to the development of the community. These projects are to contribute to community development such as in income generation, youth and women development, community health and education and community environment. |

| Assistance Program: | Australian Business Volunteers (ABV) The ABV program offers the assistance of experienced professionals and business people from Australia to assist the development of local businesses or organizations.Interested businesses are required to contribute to the costs of project. Requirements include provision of suitable accommodation and/or weekly allowance. The organization or company must also assign a counterpart for the volunteer as well as a supervisor of the volunteer’s assignment. |

| Assistance Program: | CDE offers a range of technical assistance for enterprise development. | Continuation of CDE programme: | Equipment Assessment and Technical Advice, Joint Venture Negotiations , Rehabilitation of Machines, Sectoral Studies, in depth Study of a sector In ACP, Organisation of Fairs and partnership Meeting, Identification of a potential EU partner, Assistance with First individual Contact between ACP promoter, Assistance to consultants, Training of consultants And EU partner, Organic CertificationCDE can offer a maximum of 100,000 Euro to an individual company over a period of one year. |
| Criteria: | Although CDE assistance prioritizes applicants from the Agriculture, Tourism and Fisheries Industries, any small or medium-sized enterprise in the formal sector is eligible for CDE assistance.Eligible businesses are those which meet the following conditions:
