Introductory Note:
The Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Industries is given the mandate to manage matters relating to Labour, Commerce, Trade and Industrial Development. The service of the Ministry is broken down into eight (8) main divisions namely Administration, Labour, Trade, Commerce, Industries, Small Industries Centre, Company Registration and Co-Operatives / Credit Union.
MLCI Purpose for the years 2005 – 2008:
To strengthen and create opportunities in Trade, Commerce, Investment and Industrial Development and Employment activities that enhances Private Sector growth.
This purpose reflects the expectations of Government and the Private Sector. In the era of Globalization it is important to manage the negative impacts and to exploit the opportunities that it presents.
