As Minister for the Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Industries (MLCI), I warmly welcome you to the MLCI website and invite you to learn about the various services we provide to the public.
The MLCI has taken a proactive role in creating an economic environment most suited and favourable for investment as a means of promoting private sector development. An important objective in the establishment of this website is to ensure that potential foreign investors as well as local stakeholders can easily learn about our services online and access the required information and documentations. This tool will not only improve our communication with the public, but will significantly facilitate the services we provide to the private sector.
Furthermore, the increasing trend in globalisation and the fact that Tonga is a party to several International Conventions and Agreements necessitate the need for the MLCI to ensure that information required by interested parties are readily available. Therefore, this information medium should provide stakeholders and the general public with an information pack in respect of the essential services provided by the respective Divisions of MLCI.
