The Registry and Intellectual Property Office (RIPO)

This Division is the point of contact for any registration of applications for businesses, companies, incorporated societies, charitable trusts, cooperatives and credit unions as required under the Business License Act 2002, the Foreign Investment Act 2002, the Company Registration Act 1995, the Incorporated Societies Act , Charitable Trust Act 1993, Registration of Business Names Act, the Personal Property Securities Act 2010 and the Cooperatives and Credit Union Acts.

It is also responsible for the timely appraisal of applications and the management of registries designated by their respective legislations.

RIPO also comprises of the Intellectual Property Unit which is responsible for the registration of trademarks, industrial designs, patents and utility models, and geographical indications.
